Patricia Rockwood

Patricia has long been a practitioner of the shamanic arts, the oldest form of spirituality known to humankind. Her first memory of practicing this form of medicine was when she was five years old after experiencing trauma. She has a special interest in the medicine people of the Americas due to receiving spontaneous healings from various sources related to spiritual practices. This led her to a deep love of the natural world so she obtained her BA in Human Geography, the study of how humans affect the environment, from the University of Hawaii Manoa. Later she completed her MA in Transformational Psychology through Atlantic University with a special focus on healing through the natural environment coupled with the constellation work, a form of Gestalt Therapy, developed by Bert Hellinger. Currently she is writing a book with editor turned co-author Viviana Niebylski: Crazy Woman Has Left the House. Wild Woman is Home. They are offering therapeutic trauma healing to release Crazy and embrace Wild with particular attention to working with the healing properties of water. Patricia recently moved to the Carribean from Hawaii in order to offer a varity of teachings, workshops and water retreats. She is also a meditation teacher, humanistic (psychological) astrologer, and a yoga instructor (RYT).

Viviana Niebylski

Viviana completed her undergraduate studies at Sarah Lawrence College, with a focus on music, environmental studies, psychology and sexuality. In a course on the Methods of Oral History, she discovered a love of stories and the power of bearing witness to them. Realizing that she wanted to work with people and their lived experiences, she went on to obtain a master’s degree in counseling for mental health and wellness from New York University. Viviana now has over 8 years of experience working with trauma survivors of all ages in multiple related fields including group and individual psychotherapy, sexuality and intimacy counseling, preventive services and residential treatment. She quickly rose to a directorial position in social services where she found herself trying to be a band-aid holding our broken health care system together; she was staggered by the cycles of traumatization experienced by both staff and clients. Challenged by the dilemma of being both an empath and a program administrator, she said yes far too often until compassion fatigue and burnout hit, taking a toll on her health. She resigned her position as director and began working on healing herself, following the guide Patricia laid out in her first Crazy Woman/Wild Woman draft. Time, spiritual work, movement and water have helped her rediscover her joy and her physical and mental well-being. Viviana is excited about creating a new platform through which to help others heal their wounds, become emotionally literate, practice acceptance and inclusivity, and most importantly, cultivate joy.
